I have a house that I need to sell in the USA. A family member passed away and the courts say I have to sell it. Well, as you know, the US housing market is not so good now (to put it lightly).

After the house sells, I have to distribute the money to heirs, set up trust funds, etc... This whole process could take over a year or two. Who knows.

Here is my question:
Have any of you heard of someone doing this remotely while living in Japan? I have an ALT job waiting for me in Japan and I *really* want to go already. But I am worried about complications here in the USA.

Thanks for any input.

My wife says.....

a good probate lawyer can handle it for you. You will just have to Fed Ex paperwork back and forth with signatures. You can take the money out of the estate to pay him. Might pay to have a meeting with one to discuss your problem and see if he can do it for you.
