Women in Japan: what's your opinion?

Hello everyone!

I am studying a Japanese Law & Culture module at University, and I have chosen to write about the role of women in Japanese society. I would really appreciate it if anybody could help me, by answering any or all of these questions:

If you are a woman, who has lived and/or worked in Japan:

• What is the current role of women in Japanese society?
• What issues do you think face women in Japan today?
• Are/were you happy with the role of women in Japanese society?
• Do you think that changes should be made?
• Do you expect the role of women in Japanese society to change in the future?

If you are a man, who has lived or worked in Japan:

• What is the current role of women in Japanese society?
• Do you think that women should play a greater role in Japanese society, and why?

Why do women get to answer more questions here than men? Surely men could answer all of the questions in the womens section with the exception of question 3?

You are asking expats questions, but it is not clear whether the "women" you are asking about are expats or Japanese women.

If you sincerely don't know the answer to Japanese women's role in Japan, it's so easy to find it in a ton of reference books or on Google. (If you insist, go to beingabroad.com website for more female targets for your "survey")

You could tally things a lot better by using SurveyMonkey, too.

Moreover, your "survey" is entirely too open-ended, way too broad (no pun intended), and to sort through the various essay-type answers and form any sense or order or organized replies out of them is too difficult. It almost sounds as if you just want someone to write a homework assignment for you, if you want my opinion.

Last visit was four minutes after her post. If she can't be bothered to check back for replies, I can't be bothered to answer her survey. There's nothing I hate worse than somebody who expects me to care more about their problems than they do themselves.
