The so-called idea of healthy balance of freedom of speech and whatever else is in fact always leads to the kingdom of merely personal opinions and very subjective judgements. The line is fine and in a case with you it always means only what you find "healthy". All others are always wrong even if they are objectively right. We are all adults and should know how to deal with internet trash. I see idiots and trolls and deal with them like with idiots and trolls. I don't need admin or mods to do that.I'd like to re-raise my plea for more stringent moderation on the forums.

Eer?? Am I acting like an admin or mod? Are you sure you read me well? Maybe my bad English confused you. What I said is that I can deal with trolls and idiots in the internet myself in open forums without asking forum authorities to ban posters. That is all.The problem with this is that you are neither a moderator, or administrator, and therefore it is not your right on this forum to act like either.

I used google translate to understand this phrase and I failed. Sorry. Please, don't use poor mastery over the English language as an excuse.

I like this forum because I can ask questions, and I get answers. That is the beauty of an educational forum, I think. I haven't posted because I haven't been studying, for good reasons. I know I am annoying, but if people don't like it, they don't have to respond.
Funny to see how you gave an example from a CLOSED thread. The sentence you were quoting was only the beginning. I could have continued talking to the caster and you on the topic if the line had still been open. Ironically I didn't get this chance, thanks to the moderation that got the thread locked. By the way, what the caster posts, either trolling or not, is the direct result of the Japanese school system and their textbooks. When ALT teachers go to schools, they will not hear a la caster stuff directly from students. But thanks to reading posters like him online, they have a chance to get a slight clue what ideas are or might be inside students' heads.Your attempts at dealing with caster here failed miserably.

You got me absolutely wrong. I had neither the intention, nor the desire to reason him. When I said I can deal with him, I didn't mean I was going to re-educate him and make him a better person. Why would I bother. I meant that I can use the old weapon and logic: troll trolls and abuse abusers, the only things that can be effective against him. Or just ignore him. I agree some people can be more sensitive to what he posts but you can't ignore tha fact: he is the reality that does exist in Japan. The online form of that reality is just more violentic but it doesn't change the fact itself. You can't escape it by banning the reality. Also, stricter moderation always leads to playing favorites, unfair judgements and as the result the number of trolls increased while the number of real posters and good topics decreased.you started a discussion with him using an insult suggests that your ability to actually reason with him is non-existent.

I can give you the names of at least three forums (two of them are Japan-related) where stricter moderation brought the results I was talking about. I can PM you if you want. I just don't want to discuss the details about other forums here. What proof do you have of that except your own word?

In reality the revisionists have been almost completely marginalized in Japanese politics and government the last 3 or 4 years and their influence virtually non-existent under the current ruling party (although of course there are sympathizers).Their influence is simply inversely proportional to the amount of noise they are capable of generating through JREF and other various media outlets.I agree some people can be more sensitive to what he posts but you can't ignore tha fact: he is the reality that does exist in Japan. He is not the only one who is doing that in Japan and who doesn't bother to follow your advices. If Caster was following this example he wouldn't be whitewashing history but arguing that not everything Japan did was wrong and that not everything the Allies did was right. There is a lot of validity to that approach, IMO.

I know that you're a passionate person when it comes to the forum and I can feel how you take issue with some of the postings of others. I can certainly sympathize with some of your views and others reactions to them. However I think it might be best if you really reconsider how you post. You're getting waaaaay too emotionally attached to some of these fights, swearing and calling people out. It doesn't help your argument or add anything to the forum.
I know that this might seem a double standard, but it isn't. I think in the coming weeks and months you'll see a subtle but important shift in how moderation is conducted and what will be acceptable behavior. However your responses are currently not, nor will be tolerated under any circumstances. You can't throw insults at other individuals, swear openly or just hassle everybody who has an opposing view.
I really don't want to say this but I must. The consequence of continuing your posting style is clear; you are very close to a long ban, which may be permanent. And it will happen probably the next time a moderator has to come in to split up a fight between you and another individual.
I'm sorry I had to say this, but please be careful about what you are saying. I Think the best approach is to try to remain emotionally unattached as possible... make your points in as neutral manner as possible and don't get riled up. Its the best way for you to remain on the forums, because your contribution is valuable to me and others.
Noy.

Bull like that will get you banned again for good if I see it again. You know, it would be OK if sometimes you just sit back and read things here and leave the keyboard alone. Sometimes you try way to hard. Remember the saying "The nail that sticks up, gets pounded down"

You spent half a thread calling Roland mentally ill and telling him to go seek help in his state's institutions.
Are you a latent sadist?
Your morbid fascination with these videos, combined with your abuse of the mentally ill, make me wonder.
She was recorded by a friend or acquaintance that accompanied her to the river. Why was the video even recorded in the first place if she only meant to put them out of misery? Why was she laughing?
Such as? Those pups hit the water hard enough to be knocked out before they drowned.
You called another user a homophobe.
What makes it different than incest desires, pedophilia or even bestiality ?
I'm sorry I approached you to try reason with you. I thought you might have actually responded positively or at least engaged in some discussion, rather than what you've just done. I guess I was wrong.
My intent was to keep you on the forum because I think your view needs to be represented.
