Why are these sentences wrong?

My Japanese teacher gave us this text to correct

私のまちはルイジアナ州の (1)バトソルージです。アメリカの (2) 南にあります。(3)バトソルージの (4)おもしろいことはたくさんあります。(5) 夏の時 (6)たくさんまつりがあるし、それに海が近いです。ルイジアナ州はおいしい食べ物で有名です。(7) ジャズという音楽を聞きながら、おいしい料理が食べられます。

I have tried but she tells me that the sentences after each number are still wrong. Could anybody tell me why? What could be the correct answers?

I'll open myself to embarrassment by guessing at a few:

1) Perhaps it should be バトンルージ市?

2) アメリカの南にあります sounds like "to the south of America". Try アメリカの南部にあります instead

3) Same as #1?

4) Maybe a wa/ga mistake?

5)夏の時 is redundant, sort of like saying "my female aunt".

6） まつりがたくさんある

７） Another redundancy problem, I think.

バトンルージュ is the correct spelling although an additional problem with #3 is the grammatically queer バトンルージュの面白いこと。

As mikecash says, it's an error between ン and ソ(so). If you had written it with a pen, be sure to write the second lower stroke down to up for and up to down for (so).
You can add 市, too, to be on the safe side, although it's not absolutely necessary.

アメリカの (2) 南にあります。

mikecash is right here. What you wrote means "south of the US." アメリカの南部にあります。 OR アメリカ南部にあります。

(3)バトソルージの (4)おもしろいことはたくさんあります。

(3) is the same error as (1). Another major error: バトンルージュでは・・・
For (4), おもしろいことがたくさんあります。
You can also say: 面白いものがたくさんあります。

(5) 夏の時 (6)たくさんまつりがあるし、それに海が近いです。ルイジアナ州はおいしい食べ物で有名です。

夏には、たくさんまつりがあるし、それに海に近いです。
This can also be improved this way: 夏には、祭りがたくさんあり、海にも近いです。

(7) ジャズという音楽を聞きながら、おいしい料理が食べら れます。

I'm not sure what the teacher wants here, but mikecash is probably right. Write like this: ジャズを聴きながら・・・

Another thing is: おいしい料理を食べられます。

Personally, I think both "ga" and "wo" are OK.
