It's some kind of powder, and my mom bought it for me a while ago.. "Mix it with your rice when you cook and it will taste better".. I didn't believe it at first, but, polite as I am, I couldn't refuse.

Anyways, it does make your rice taste better!! Just a few teaspoons of it in your pan (or rice-cooker for those youngsters and oldsters who cannot cook rice without an automatic rice cooker.. Amateurs!!), and it will make your rice taste fresher!! Amazing stuff..

In Holland, some people eat rice, covered with butter, then sprinkled with sugar! I thought it was a 2nd WW-thing, and not many people eat it though. (Actually, I only know one person who eats it!!)

I prefer to cook rice with a ordinary pan.. I was shocked by the fact that the majority of the Japanese people (at least the people I know) don't know how to cook rice without a rice cooker!!
