The time here is 2:45 in the morning

The topic about post #26 I got carried away lol sorry

Ah... But you'd be surprised just how some aspects of modern technology was behind in Japan until all but a few years ago. When I arrived here in 1998, while I'd been online for close to 10 years then, barely anyone I knew around me in Japan was connected. It was still fairly new and fairly expensive. While the Internet has know an incredible expansion since then, I was still shocked at how "backwater" (pardon the expression) Japan was in that respect. It's really 50/50... On top of which, Japanese like gadgets, so gadgets always make it faster on the market here...

No worries about posting numbers... Others have more...

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled topic...

I'm at Camp Courtney. USMC

I remember seeing the new Game Boy Advanced with the light up LCD here. It's about 20,000 Yen and Now its in the states selling for a cheaper price....At least I think it is

Mind by asking what time is it there in japan I got a PDA that has a time zone and it say's "Tokyo 6:58" is that right?

The new GBA your talking about is GBA SP here in the state's it is $99

Here they say it is exspensive and I hear that if you flod it to close the thing it breaks easy.

Not surprised. I've got the old one, and sticking to it. The flip one looked sort of hard to hold and brittle...

I got the GBA I like it better than the new one. I also heard a rummor going on here in the state's it is the nintendo is makeing a new GBA it's called GBA TV I wonder if that's true?

Hey I found something cool I think you already figured it out but let me tell you. Did you know Kyoto is Tokyo? Cool

If you rearange kyoto you should get tokyo
like K+Y+O+T+O=KYOTO now re arrange it T+O+K+Y+O=TOKYO

Ahh... But the kanji to write the names are different. Can your screen display Japanese characters?

Are you going to send the Japanese character? It can read them.

東京 Tokyo
京都 Kyoto

京 which is common to both means "capital". 都 roughly means "metropolis" or "capital". So 京都 means "capital", really.
東 (higashi) means "east", so 東京 means "capital of the east".

I was wondering Can I actualy live in japan? Even though I am not a resident of japan?

So what is going on? today or on friday there in japan?

Although this is really off topic for this part of the forum, the answer is yes. The easiest way being to get a job first and get a work visa, or to get married to a Japanese national and get a spouse visa. If you're here long enough you can get naturalised, but that doesn't happen that often.
