I'm looking for high-proof alcohol, which is given various names such as 'everclear', 'rectified spirit', 'grain alcohol' etc. These have around 95%+ alcohol content.

In Australia it was available in some of the larger liquor stores as 'Polish rectified spirit'.
I don't know what it is called in Japan, or where you would find it. Anyone have any ideas?

Also, 'perfumers alcohol' might suffice too, if anyone knows where to find that.

You want this to drink, right?

If you're not going to ingest it, any drugstore should be able to hook you up.

What would I ask for?

アルコール or エタノール

Please make sure you know what you end up with and if it is ingestible or not. The consequences of drinking the wrong kind can be extremely dire.

Tinctures are usually ingested. What "general purpose" are you proposing?

Why? I'm just curious because there might be something else more effective and efficient.
Do I know where to find it? Not at the time I wrote my question, but with Mike's help I do now.

Your turn to answer.
