Hey all -

Am new to the forum but I'm moving to Japan for six months - I have a job to go to at Tokyo Disney - so I'm just starting to look into all the extra stuff I can do while I'm there - please give me your suggestions! I have six months so I'll have plenty of time to see a few things as well as having a month or so travelling at the end of the time - so what should I do?

I moved this here to not only put it in the more proper location, but to get it some more exposure, as well.

When, exactly is it that you'll be arriving in Japan--in the Autumn,
Winter, or Spring? That information may also help in letting folks know just what areas may have things going on.

It all depends on what you're interested in, and just how much free time your job will afford you. There's tons of places to go and see within a day's reach of Tokyo (though it's possible that you'll actually be living in Chiba, where Disneyland is located).

Take a day trip to Nikko and see the various temples/shrines. Well worth it.

Suggestions:

Kyoto for 2-3 days to see all the temples
Ghibli Museum

again, it's important to know what the OP is actually interested in. Not everyone likes temples and anime.
