what kanken level are you?

I am at ３級, took me two years to get there from 4級. I am going to try to for 2級 in the future when get time.

I did my first Kanken today, I took the 10kyu and 9 kyu. There was about a dozen other candidates and they all around like 7 to 8 year olds kids, they all of either full Japanese background or half Japanese. God it was embarrassing as hell, the only adult in the room.

Can you take Kanken in Sydney? I didn't know that.

I guess it's rare for an Australian living in Australia to take Kanken.
There must be much more people who take JLPT.

Yes, Sydney is one of the very few cities in the world that offers Kanken exams.

huh? So in 2009 you were at level 6, but this year you took level 10 and 9?

Must have been embarrassing a lot haha. My Dutch friend is going to Kumon every week sitting between ES kids, although she feels a bit embarrassed about it her level went up a lot because of that.

Never tried it myself, but my daughter has either 2 or pre-2.

And it seems like only yesterday my Japanese ability was so much better than hers......boy, that didn't last long.

well apparently I over-estimated myself big time back in 2009, matter of fact I don't even know if I can pass level 9.
