What I am suggesting is that you can feed a larger population with plant products than with animal products, and if we ever wish to achieve a sustainable population level the carnivores among us will have to adjust. (It will happen when Beef hit several hundred dollars a pound.)
Heres a better idea, how about we stop humanity s******g out thousands of babies, we dont need a larger population, we need a stable one.
Also, purely vegetarian diets arent really ideal for the body, were omnivores, live with it, or try and evolve into a sheep or something.
Also, Tofu is downright disgusting, if you want to live off of poor plant substitutes and die an early death and live a meak ill-prone life, thats your decision.
I agree humanity shouldnt pig out on meat but its no secret its been an essential vital part of our diet since we first evolved, why do vegetarians feel they are somehow more qualified then thousands upon thousands of years of evolution to tell people how they should eat?.
I just find the philosophy behind vegetarianism flawed....thats not to say i dont want you to live on plant products if thats your choice, just dont try and force it on me, i actually have thought about it a pretty damn lot, and yeah, i came to my own conclusion that i prefer to eat meat, and if i have to deny myself what my diet demands to save a few cows from dying, then how do you propose we try and stop the natural flow of things, and stop all other life consuming other organism?, it would basically destroy life on earth, its no secret that the natural world isnt malicious and intentionally harsh, but it isnt goody goody either, plants produce energy, small animals eat the plants, slightly larger animals eat those ones, its the food chain, its been around WWWAAAAAYYYYYY longer then the touchy-feely love the trees sentimentality, so i see no reason to go against the most integral lynchpin of the ecosystem now.
Anyway, if we stopped eating meat now, we would only have to cull billions upon billions of each domesticated species...if not whipe them out completely, after all, who knows what effect releasing them into the wild would have?.
No, i think we need to control our own population to a sastainable level, not give up meat so we can feed a few thousand more mouths before we cross the point of no return and nature culls us in her own ways.
