Hi!

I'm really new here. ^^; I haven't even had a chance to edit my profile and things yet...so please forgive the blank-ness!!!

I'm posting here to say hello and ask you all a question... I tried to search the forums to see if my question had been posted before, but it redirected me back to this forum, saying I hadn't posted yet. So, I'll stick it in my intro post in case it has been asked.

I recently found a blog for someone that I'm a fan of, and would like to post a few comments now and then. But, I know this person doesn't speak english. I'm currently majoring in Japanese Studies, so I'm familiar with the language and am able to speak/read the language... But I don't have any way of typing in Japanese. :(

Would they understand if I posted it in romaji? (I think that sort of wouldn't work, but I want to know what others think and it doesn't hurt to ask...) Or should I try to find one of those programs that lets me type in Japanese?

Kind of a stupid question, I know... :unsure:

Is my n00biness showing? 😊

I have the language pack. ^^ I just don't have the keyboard. >.>

I've been copying and pasting Japanese characters for the most part when talking to my friends, but that gets a little time consuming. ^^;

You don't need a Japanese keyboard dummy :p Just type and it should show in hiragana/katakana/kanji (when you use the SPACE button) :)

wow... lol

Romaji or no romaji, Welcome to the forum Sayomi !! I hope that you do expand out and enjoy the entire forum, even after you have learned how to get the characters and kana. (and romaji would be fine I think, only depending on the person, may not be taken so seriously so not really read carefully--short posts would be good.)

I hope you will share and learn with all of us!! See you 'round !! 🙂

if you have the language pack, just type as you would in romaji and it will change itself to kana/kanji

and welcome to the forum! :-)
