Want to confirm Meishi Doushi

Hey guys, I'm at uni so can't type in Japanese so bare with me.

Anyway I want to know about Meishi and Doushi, my teachers were trying to explain it to me but they only speak in Japanese so its hard to get a straight answer out of them that I can understand. I believe Meishi is like the names of things and Doushi is the name of actions or something to do with 'doing things'. I would appreciate any help to clear this up.

I think you got them right.
Meishi = noun
Doushi = verb

keiyoushi = Adjective

It helps to look at the characters for the words:
Meishi = 名詞
Doushi = 動詞

Yes well since I pay for the classes I'd rather spend 1 min understanding something alittle difficult using english then half the class on that one thing, btw thanks for posting.
