Violence in Lebanon

Once again we are witnessed to politicallised violence in Lebanon. I just hope scorpion da black is allright and I bless Lebanon. The small but beautiful country which connects Europe and the Middle East.

well as for the violence ..i think it is routine now...
we here are now used to hearing gun shots..the news saying some politician blew up...fights here, militants there...
it is all become a routine....

I haven't caught news of it yet; I've been a bit busy with finishing up the school year here. Perhaps I will be able to get to see the news in today's newspaper...later on.

It's too bad that any kind of bombing...if that's what it was...is going on there, although I'm not all that surprized. Anyway I hope as few people as possible were injured...if any at all. I see that scorpion da black is ok.

I don't see how you can 'bless' any nation group, though, centrajapan san...?

as for the trouble is another city..and both the bombing and the gun clashes was in Beirut the capital far from my home town

there was 6 who died in the bombing..and 7 who died in the gun clashes..

about 20 and more injured.

I happen to love to watch out and read your posts and wish for more to come, sounds a bit egoistic? Well, yes, in a way, depends on how you look at it;-)
And I happened to have a small slim nice, vividly bright eyed and funny lebanese doctor lately. . .he was a bit of a trickster, yet a very good doctor, and we understood each other perfectly well.
(He kept me guessing, and I was coming out in about Jordania, when he told me, where he is from. Well, not that far after all.)

well i understand what you mean about wanting to know how darkness looks like from some one engulfed in it...
i used to chat with some one who lived through what happened in Rwanda..i was so interested to hear the story from him rather than read about it

We happpen to have many Africans here as well, actually, I worked in several Intercultural centers, and we even were bombed by german fanatic Neonazis lately, in a center, ruled by a nice ethiopian. . .

No, it happened in the night, but a neighbour realised it and acted quickly, thus no big damage, the bomb fell into the corridor and only left some black traces, plus they painted a real big Swastica outside. But the next day, a lot of press and an anti-nazi-demonstration etc. Its not the first time in Berlin, nor at this center. We simply go on as ever, even have some more positive press and attention following.
Berlin is very sensitive in Racist terms! Also due to our past. But mostly positively for the victims of any racism and offering many meetings and cooperations between cultures. Thats the good thing about some big cities. . .I live quite happily amongst a pretty strong islamic community around. They never bothered me, in contrary, I receive little presents now and then, and thats it.
And they would probably never bomb our part anyhow, hehe. They rather have some fights amongst themselves now and then.

But also when I was invited to Jerusalem, I had friends on both sides, thus we were also invited to Bethlehem then. And the jewish side was a peace-group, also teaching arabic. . .

And the father of my child was partly jewish, but brought out some wonderfull palestine songs on CD.

We could all live so happily together. . .

It's very scary, the neo-nazis. There are even groups of them in the U.S. I just hope it never gets to the scale that it was in WW2. I'm glad that bombing didn't kill anyone.

I got a shock when the small "war" broke out with Israel and Hezbollah.

Seeing Lebanon on TV and not really knowing a cracker about your country or what it looked like, really shocked me.

It seemed a very nice and modern city..

It's ashame that the terrorist group has so much power and why it even came to that..

It's a Christian dominated government isn't it?

well bro you are right it is sad truth to see war in our country every now and then...
first it was Israel invading our land as always..(nothing new) i am Glad hezbollah showed them a lesson in war and got back at them hard..
as for the terrorists that started the war last summer..well that was gruesome.. i saw killing with my own eyes..it started in my home town..at the very street i live in...

plus i agree with chi65 san we can all live in peace with each other..as a matter of fact we are here with open arms to peace...it is the other side that chooses to flare a war.
