Video/audio about history with transcript

Hi,

I'm a beginner in Japanese, and interested in learning more about Japan's history (like ancient Japan, Edo period , Meiji era , etc.). So, I would like to know where I can find online video/audio content about the history of Japan in Japanese, with transcript.
For example, it would be great to find Japan history audio or video lectures in Japanese with transcript or subtitles.

I tried to do a search for something like "江戸時代" (Edo period) on Youtube and it came up with some video lectures, but without transcript/subtitles. If such content with transcript exists, it will be in Japanese websites; so, with my limited knowledge, it would be hard to find it by myself.

Can anyone help? Thank you in advance.

I think its very unlikely you're going to find it. I've been looking for (original) material with transcripts since the beginning of my studies.

You could try adding 日本語字幕 to your searches as well to increase your chances of finding said content.

Edit: I didn't watch very far, so I can't verify any content, and a lot was too fast for me to catch.

Youtube's autogenerated subtitles are so bad that they're used as comical material . 回転木馬作っても疲れない！

I also searched around a bit and similarly only managed to find English-language videos with Japanese subtitles or Japanese videos with English subtitles...

Some of the NHK educational stuff has them. For example this series (which is about various famous people in Japanese history)
歴史にドキリ [社会 小学校6年生]｜NHK for School
(click the box on the left hand side of the volume).

The narration (not the dialogue of the people acting) is also in the right hand pane and updates as you go through the 'sections' (of a single video). While this is aimed at school kids (小学６年生 - 11 or 12 year olds), that doesn't mean it's appropriate for a beginner. It's also rather silly in places.
