Hi Guys.
I was wondering if 経験 is used when asking about experiences people having had on holidays.
For example.
Could I ask.
ここに来て以来一番いい観光の経験をするがなんですか
I'm trying to say
What has been your best sightseeing experience you have had since coming here?
Thanks guy's
You always explain things well and give great examples to follow. I see that ここに来て以来 "since coming" is not needed as usual my English brain is cutting in.
I have constructed a short dialog using your advice. How is this. (We have just introduced ourselves) How's this?
Aさん:ここで何をしているんですか
Bさん:英語を勉強しています。
Aさん:そうですか。観光地に行ったことがありますか。
Bさん:はい。
Aさん:観光に来て何が一番いい思い出ですか
Bさん:動物園へ行きました。
In that context, 観光に来て sounds repetitive since they are talking about sightseeing already. Also, 動物園へ行きました。 is odd as an answer to the question 何が一番いい思い出ですか. B doesn't say about the place he went, so A should ask about it first, I think.
The question calls for an answer in the form of a noun. The answer is an action.
You could try nominalizing it: 動物園に行った{時・こと}です
Or you could just removing the "going" part.
動物園です。
Think about it...in English it would more correctly be "when I went to the zoo" or "going to the zoo", both of which are noun phrases. You wouldn't answer "I went to the zoo".
Yes is see what your saying, its sounds a lot more natural.
By the way 印象深かったですか I have never heard that before. That's great new vocabulary for me thanks a lot I will try to use this next time for practice.
thanks toritoribesan and mikesan
