University Nomination - MEXT Scholarship

I'm sure we will get the result by mid june and no later. Let's hope we all hear the good news soon.
 
Yeah, I really hope all of us here gets chosen. I'm so jumpy now. Like every international call that i receive, I'm already thinking if it's THE PHONE CALL. Of course I don't really know if it's gonna be an email or phone call, but hehe. You guys get what I mean.

hi iconly. I don't know what you mean by "position" but if you're asking about my status as an applicant, I have already passed the first screening for MEXT under university recommendation, like most of us here. There's nothing more I know beyond that. Have you applied this year too?
 
hi iken, i mean by "position" is that the university inwhich you are applying through makes ranking for applicants 1st, 2nd, 3rd, so on........ the application of these applicants is then submitted to MEXT.

Well, I asked my professor about that but he said it didn't matter. I've heard of that ranking before, read it somewhere in the previous forums. I believe that there are only 4 slots available for the program that I'm applying for. But I really have no idea, what rank I'm in.

Are you also applying for Hiroshima Uni?

I was told the result would be in by the start of July, so mid June would be awesome, not too far now! I can also sympathize with you guys, the waiting is killing me!

Start of July? Are you sure? Because I think the dorm applications are in June, so July would be a little late. Let's see though. Best of luck.

I'm wondering about this,too.
Like everyone here, I have known that the final selection of MEXT (U. Recommendation) will be announced about mid of June-July, but my university, Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto, said that they will inform me about the result of final selection by end of April. So, I asked a staff of Japan Embassy in my country about the early result and he said that it is possible to know the result in April because MEXT may informs the university before June.

Anyway, due to Golden Week in Japan now (long holiday; 28 April- 6 March), I haven't know the result yet.
Maybe, I'll send an email to a university's staff to ask about this after the Golden Week.

Did any university inform the candidates about the result in April like my case?
 
Hi Guys,

I'm applying for Hokkaido University. They said in a recent email to all nominated students "At this stage we do not receive any inquiry about
your application documents from MEXT. Their confirmation is supposed to be announced in the beginning of July 2012."

So that's the latest I have heard, this was sent about 2 weeks ago. It might be different for different universities. Looking at threads from previous years people usually find out at the end of June or start of July so still at least 8 weeks to go I think. (-_ -);;;
 


Maybe you're right. It may depend on universities.
Because my university has just informed me the result of the official final selection last Thursday, and I passed it!!!! HOORAYYYY
They said that they will send me documents and details about visa etc. by July 1st.

Hope everyone here will gonna hear a good news like me.

I've seen from an older post in this webbord that the number of recipients this year are increased from last year, so I'll pray for you guys that this October we all will be in Japan !

hi iconly~ sorry for the replying in late. I was on a trip. Anyway, I applied for IDEC in Hirodai. I had a chance to talk to my professor last week and I have a slight idea of what my ranking is now. Like I said on my previous posts, there are only 4 slots that will be given for IDEC students who wish to pursue masteral studies. He just revealed to me that I'm among the 4 who were selected for those slots. So at least, I'm a bit relieved now that I'm not on the waiting list. Still a bit worried, but hopeful that everything will be okay. How about you?

why worried phukhanhbk and iken i too hope we get it in two weeks!! have just finished my mtech and have to wait for the results to get a clear pic of what to do next
 
Hey guys,

I mailed my prospective thesis adviser at the University to ask if he knew when the results come out. He said that the International Center of the University had told him that the result would be announced in late June or early July. This is kinda frustrating as I'm getting edgy and nervous. I was hoping to have the result by the end of this month so that I could plan ahead. My Bachelor's course just finished, and I'm free for the next 2 or 3 months (depending on what I do next). Anyway, I do have an alternative, but I don't wanna go down that road if I can avoid it. Hope we get a positive result soon.
 

Which univ have you applied for fullM3tall and for what subject. I am a Post graduate and have applied for doctrate. I have been placed by the campus but if i get a positive result then i may not go for the job.. Hve to join it latest by 25th of JUly. by then we should get some result. I have applied i Todai univ for doctrate.
 
I've been admitted to Keio University's International Graduate Program (IGP), Master's in Open Systems Management. I too have job offers from two companies through campus placements. I'll probably get the joining letter and date for both companies in late July. But as I said, it's not something I'm looking forward to, and so I'm anxiously waiting for the scholarship results.
