U.N. Makes It Official: Global Warming Is B.S.

How exactly did U.N. made it "official"?
Did you at least read the articles?
Or the document?

Oddly enough, Japan was the first one to call shenanigans on the whole thing from a serious standpoint, albeit from a very different viewpoint
Partially translated ac pap from JSER here

Ah, the unbiased and unslanted news source Fox News. I always have the urge to fall out of my chair laughing when someone cites them in a serious discussion.
Maybe their article would have been a bit more compelling if they had actually cited any part of the document instead of just calling it "concerning."

The UN did not introduce the concept of global warming to the world, nor have they been the sole driving force behind the effort to combat it. So even if that document proved that the UN's stance on global warming had nothing to do with the environment (it doesn't), the UN's behavior has nothing to do with whether global warming is real or not.

Thank God that more people are already catching on to this fraudulent conspiracy. This just gives the skeptics more ammunition to fight these plans.

Sceptics? Fight? What?
And how exactly will that happen?
Neither side knows for sure whether it is real.

Somehow I just knew the lefties around here would bash Fox News and pooh-pooh the story.

Any reason we shoudn't? We've still yet to hear any reasoned arguments or supporting quotations to back up your original comment. I know conservatives typically don't put a lot of stock in those things, but we lefties have come to expect them when having an intellectual discussion.

That's because you "lefties" believe in big and nanny government and want to control aspects of peoples' lives. :D

What on earth are you talking about?

C'mon, don't feign ignorance. LOL! This is all about using "global warming" or "climate change" as an excuse to spread the joys of socialism around the world.

Typical conservative. Equating everyone with communists.
I drink to McCarthy.

No, I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. I said I expect discussions to be based on some kind of logical foundation and you said that's because I want a nanny government to control people. Socrates would be rolling over in his grave.

As Mike Cash would say, thanks for astutely noticing that I said not one word about communists.

I need not express words, when you clearly imply it through your visions of a conspiracy. Especially considering that you use plural, as if all the non-conservatives have reached some sort of consensus, and are waiting eagerly to take the economy down with deception and lies.

It's called the hive mind, and just about everyone in this thread has demonstrated it :D

Tell you what. If the whole thing is a lie, we may lose out, the economy will struggle a bit.
If its not, and yet we ignore it... we're ******.
And you know, we have invoked the ultimate negating power of malicious conspiracies (the blackest black magic), so any form of reference will be inadmissible for the next 1 million years.

If one accepts the proposition that there is global warming, there's no proof that it's manmade. If it is natural (the earth goes through heating and cooling cycles), there's nothing we can do about it anyway.

However, it has been reported that the earth has been cooling since 1998.

There's other forms of socialism besides communism.

Well.. did you?

Of course.

Here's the UN's own paper on this:

http://www.foxnews.com/projects/pdf/032709_informationnote.pdf

FOX News executive editor George Russell reported Friday:

A United Nations document on "climate change" that will be distributed to a major environmental conclave next week envisions a huge reordering of the world economy, likely involving trillions of dollars in wealth transfer, millions of job losses and gains, new taxes, industrial relocations, new tariffs and subsidies, and complicated payments for greenhouse gas abatement schemes and carbon taxes — all under the supervision of the world body.

Those and other results are blandly discussed in a discretely worded United Nations "information note" on potential consequences of the measures that industrialized countries will likely have to take to implement the Copenhagen Accord, the successor to the Kyoto Treaty, after it is negotiated and signed by December 2009.

The 16-page note, obtained by FOX News, will be distributed to participants at a mammoth negotiating session that starts on March 29 in Bonn, Germany, the first of three sessions intended to hammer out the actual commitments involved in the new deal.

No debate can be had when either side drops logical discussion for talking down to people due to an assumed political view. If you want an actual discussion then drop the political BS and start bringing out sources, until then, political name calling accomplishes about as much as a one-legged man at a butt kicking contest so hang up the egos and try again.

I am going to stay waaaaaaay out of this discussion.

Mainly because I plan on buying a Nissan Skyline GTR later this year. :D

Remixer

What year Remixer? The car I owned in Japan in the late 70's and early 80's was a 1973 Nissan Skyline GT. It was the best car ever owned back then. My car was dark green. Too bad they don't show the back lights which were circular and really cool for the time.

This one, mate. Metallic black. :)

I've always been a fan of shiny black cars with lots of electronic gadgets in them. :D

Remixer

Global warming is pure BS and it would be a shame to see these cars "outlawed". Now that is a cool looking car Remixer. What a change in 36 years. However, I would be glad to own any one of them at the present time! When it comes to the Skyline, it will always remain a top pick to me.
