This is something my dad put in the subject line in a family email a few weeks before he unexpectedly passed away. I want to get it tattooed, vertically down my spine.

Thank you. I didn't have a specific length. I was going to take whatever it turned out to be. I just didn't want something that was incorrect.
 
Sorry for your loss. Did you or dad have a special connection to Japan? Would you consider having the same tattoo done in English, just to avoid any possible misinterpretation?
