Mainly just a rant post, but it's quite difficult to secure a share house during these times, and it seems like every management company is experiencing huge surges and all of their houses are full... I've reached out to like 5 different management companies and even ended up finding out that somehow more than one management company can manage and rent out the same share house?? It's crazy how complex this stuff gets, I don't even know if I'll ever understand how the levels of management typically work but it's a lot to deal with especially when you see a property available on the website and send an inquiry, then find out it's full, or not even get a response... Luckily, I think I've finally found one that is in a good location, good price, and the management of that property said it's still available, but that was the last thing that was said before they disappeared for the night, so hopefully it's still that way tomorrow. And the weird thing is how all the management companies have different rules that sometimes apply to the same share house, it just doesn't even make sense.
I can survive outside of Japan, but that's all I've been able to do so far - survive. In Japan I had more of a sense of living than anywhere else I've been so far.
If I can find some place affordable, I think next time I leave Japan it will be to Taiwan, Japan's (little?) sibling. I've heard that it's quite similar to Japan and familiar to the Japanese, so I think it will be a more natural place for me to live as well, in the meantime. Looks like it could be even harder to get a decent share house there, so I would have to find some 台湾人 in Japan or online to help me maybe... but this isn't about Taiwan so
My flight is scheduled for the 4th of March, so hopefully everything goes smoothly up to that point.
