Hello I was wondering how I would go about finding my husbands mother she went back to japan from the USA when he was 6 and never came back. Is there a national database?

However, if you know where (the prefecture and municipality) your mother is registered, you can write a letter to the municipal government asking for information. The letter should be written in Japanese and provide substantiating information or document.
