Hello,
I know it will be nearly impossible to find anything due to the lack of information that I have but I wanted to see if anyone may be able to point me in some sort of direction...

My father was born in Tokyo, Japan in 1948. I have his birth name and date of birth, and his mother's name and date of birth. I was able to find the names of her birth parents but what I am trying to find is the name of my father's biological father. My dad came to the United States in 1943 with his mother and it has been told that he had a brother who stayed in Japan with their father.

I know that the information I have is very little but I am hoping that I am able to find something... Any help is appreciated!

I think you may have some dates mixed up; you have him leaving Japan five years before he was born.

Do you know where in Tokyo he was born?

Oops! I meant 1953. Sorry about that. And I'm not sure where

Is there any way you can get your hands on any of their official documents, immigration papers, Japanese passport, etc.?

I don't have any of that the only document I have from them arriving is the crew and passenger list from Yokohama to Seattle. It lists their doc # and visa # for both my grandmother and my father.

You may be able to get some records from the government. For example, you could get their SS# applications quite easily (if deceased). See How to Request a Copy of a Social Security Application Form . If he became a US citizen there may be paperwork related to that, etc. I'm not an expert on any of that but you could try asking for help in genealogy forums.
