Hi,

I have been studying japanese for a few weeks now. I received a present and would like to know a bit more about the artist who created it and what it says.

Im not sure if anyone can help me. I have been finding that looking at text in japanese and english is a really useful exercise in breaking the grammar down and learning. unfortunately this is a little3 too complicated for me

It is the profile info on the author, Tsukata Toshio.

In brief, he is an internationally recognized and award-winning lacquerware master craftsman, born in 1937 in Ishikawa Prefecture and holding important posts in Japan's national and prefectural modern arts and crafts industry associations.

He had a website of his own, but it no longer exists.
