Translation needed to keep hope!!!!

Konnichiha, watashi wa atarashii na doshii ga kyo naraimashita!

Hello, I learned a new verb today!

Please tell me if I got that correct, also tell me if I put the particles in the right place, and which particles I could leave out.....

Very close. Just a few things to point out.


あたらしい (atarashii) is an い (i) adjective so you don't need な (na) after it.

The word for verb is どうし (doushi).

The particle for direct objects is を (wo) not が (ga) (in most cases, as is it for this one)

Today, きょう (kyou), has a long vowel at the end.

Word order is fairly flexible, but you tend to see time words either directly before or after the topic / subject of the sentence.

Also, exclamation points aren't that common in Japanese, you can use sentence-final よ (yo) to serve as emphasis.


I'd personally change it like so:

konnichiwa, watashi wa kyou atarashii doushi wo naraimashita yo.
こんにちは、私は今日新しい動詞を習いましたよ。

I'm a newbie and I hope I'm not doing anything wrong
but judging from the context, wouldn't it be possible to leave out the "watashi ha" as well? Thus it would say:
Konnichiha, kyou atarashii doushi wo naraimashita yo.

Right or not?

Yes, if the subject is clear from context then you can (if you want to) leave it out.

So if someone asked you what you did today, you can leave out 私は (watashi wa) because it's clear that you're talking about yourself.

I'm not nitpicking, but 今日 is also omitted for the case(it's obvious, too), i.e., 新しい動詞を習いましたwould be more natural as the answer.;-)
(Another way of saying is to make 今日 the topic, 今日は新しい動詞を習いました.）
