Hello,
I was wondering if someone here would be able to translate the text on this pottery piece. It has been in my family for many years and has always puzzled my family as to what it says.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Crafter.

幸運丸
Kōunmaru

That's the name of a ship, meaning "good luck / good fortune".

Thanks so much Toritoribe!!!

Sorry. I Posted this in the wrong section. And I can not work out how to move it.

No problem to post in this section.

I was just advised on another forum that it translates as... "Flower Transport" or "Flower Transport Boat"

Could this possible have 2 translations? I am confused.

The person misread the first character as 華

Thanks Mike,

So Toritoribe's translation is correct?

Thanks Mike,

So Toritoribe's translation is correct?

My being called on to verify a native speaker's answer is a novelty....

Yes, it is correct.

Out of curiosity, what was the other forum? Can you give us a link to the post, please?

Lol. Sorry Mike.

But when you said 'The person misread the first character as 華' I was not sure which person you were referring to, so I needed to make sure.

Here is the link: Asian Art Forums - Detail List

Thanks for your help

I see.

Tell Bill H. he overlooked the absence of the three stroke bit at the top.
