So can I translate the sentence 光信号と電気信号を組み合わせた「光論理ゲート」の動作を、チームの若手が確認したときである。as "It was when the young people of the team confirmed the working of the 'Optical logic gate' that combines the light signal with electrical signal"? Is "working" a proper translation?
