Translating my name into kanji ?

Hello everyone,

I've been trying to translate my name into a Japanese one, using kanji with a close enough meaning instead of just katakana.

My name literally means summer cloud, and I know that the usual kanji for summer and cloud are 夏 and 雲.

Now my question is, would it sound like an actual Japanese name to just put those two kanji together? If yes, how would they be read together (I'm always confused about which reading to use when it comes to names...)?

And if those two kanji won't do, would you happen to know a Japanese name with a meaning that's close to mine?

Is it your given name? if so, yes, 夏雲 can be the one. (It's a quite rare name, though.) The most common pronunciation of it is "Kaun", but Kaun sounds like a male name to me.

Yes, it's my given name. I see... Would another less common reading of 夏雲 still sound as boyish?

The readings "Kaon" or "Natsumo" can be a female name. These are both irregular readings, but uncommon (or sometimes unimaginable) readings are allowed as far as used as people's names.
(FYI, the most common reading of 夏雲 as a noun "summer cloud" is "natsugumo". Thus, you'd better remember people usually read 夏雲 as "natsugumo" unless you put furigana on it.)
