Totally lost with this translation

Hello guys,

again, I'm reading some manga and I found this sentence:

確かにそれは前に聞いたけど。

Even though I try, I cannot find how this sentence could be translated. It's almost impossible.

My guess is:

"But certainly that was what I heard/asked before."

Is that right?

This looks pretty much correct to me. I would guess at something like "I've definitely heard it/that before". However, I'm only a learner, so let's wait for the experts' verdict.

I thought that too and I think it's "righter" than mine since there's no "nan" or "nani".

Derick, I think you're close, eeky might be just a tad closer. The translation gave me what you were thinking. It can't be that far off. Keep up the studying bud
 
Purely literally, the difference between those two translations is 確かにそれは前に聞いたことだけど vs. 確かにそれは前に聞いたけど.
