too big signatures

Can the Admins please make a limit to the singatures?

I don't think that having a big picture in it, moreover very colorful or/with a big amount of text is good. Escpecially when you have to read one-line-posts and then it's a big signature like this on half a screen or something like this.

yeah because SOME *caugh* *looks at J-music loving people* have a sig TOO big although in forum rules it says otherwise

Well.....

there's always that feature you can use that shuts off sigs. I forget I have them turned off and I am amazed when I read the Forum without logging in, how many and how big some are.

There are limits to the signatures, people just seem to ignore them. We try to take care of ones that are too big, but sometimes, I think we find ourselves missing them. Why? Because they are usually confined to the J-Pop/Anime/Manga sections, and we all know that a lot of us do not hang out there.

So, if you see one that is humongous, please feel free to PM any member of the staff.

kirei_na_me: you are certanly right. I think you could just look into any thread in the entertainment section(especially Anime & Manga or J-pop) and see atleast one huge signature.

Disabeling signatures is imo pretty boring since some people kan keep to the rules and maybe you'll find a fun link in it.

You could remove the img-tag from being used in signatures, I don't think that would hurt much since you can probably get your message out with text only from a sig.

Those gigantic sigs are really disturbing. They have never failed to shock me at their sizes, since one could KISS it, "keep it short and simple" or just stick with the rules.

I've never considered shutting off the sigs as I find that many of them are fun and contains links that are cool. I'm also of the opinion that one's sig is a part of one's personality or at least the kind of personality one wants to convey...

Thank you for your feedback. I agree that we need to tackle the issue of large sigs. For the time being I have implemented a hack that displays sigs only once per page. Generally, I am reluctant to globally disable sig images, but I will try to find other means of monitoring and managing sig graphics.

I like some people's sigs so I don't want them to be disabled too. The only way is to monitor andwarn the people who have too big sigs.

Maybe after warning give them a week to change this, according to rules, and if it doesn't work, ban them temporarily (of course telling why the ban was given).

Signature Update!

You know what? I'm tired of these huge signatures.

Even if there's only one displayed per page, if it is huge, it still takes something away from the thread. Links to the Signature Guidelines (yet again) are plentiful, so there's no excuse to still be sporting a humongous signature. To me, it shows blatant disregard to the rules, and it's also just plain rude to have something that distracts other people.

So, if you find your signature has been taken off, it's because you've broken the rules and one of the team members has deleted it.

If you want a signature, follow the Signature Guidelines.

yeah yeah for reals i know theres many a link to the sig guidlines, more than 1000 as its in my sig and ive posted on lots and lots of pages

have respect, keep it small,, i think many people dont need a guidelineness for that... but there are some Dumb ( sorry my opinion) that do it....
