skyscrapers dwarf bonsai
crows cry for branches
that have become glass and steel
everybody follows the rules
intent on making cash
but never showing themselves
no humor
in the high pitched melee
called modern life
all pretense
that some long ago wisdom
is preserved
against the seething press
of tourists
who seek souvenirs
rather than answers
to soulful questions
