Term for exec management shuffle?

Is there a term that describes the Japanese practice of shuffling upper management of retirement age to subsidiaries or other related companies?
For example a division head at a conglomerate like Matsushita may become a CEO at a small partner company. Whereas lower level employees that reach that age have to retire outright.

The former is a kind of "amakudari" (which is usually going from the government to a board seat on a big company). But I think you can use it to mean the situation you described above: going from the lofty heights of a major company, to a cushy, nondemanding job in a less prestigious company.

Common names such as "career" and "non-career" that are often heard. A "career" is a person who has passed the National Public Service Class I and has been hired by the main office. "Non-career" refers to a person who has not passed the National Civil Service Examination Class I at a central ministry. The national civil servant type I employment examination is considered to be extremely difficult, and almost all career bureaucrats who have passed and are hired by the central government office are promoted to senior bureaucrats in seniority order. In other words, the difference in treatment and promotion between the careers of national civil servants and non-careers is clear, but while non-careers usually work until the retirement age of 60, career bureaucrats retire from government offices around the age of 50. Almost all of them are promised to be promoted to section chiefs after working at the ministry, studying abroad, working in rural areas, and being seconded to other ministries. However, the fact is that those in the same period who could not be promoted any further and could not become the administrative vice-minister, who is the highest bureaucrat, will retire. Then, you will be re-employed at a private company or special corporation that is closely related to the government office where you worked. The convention is the so-called "Amakudari".
