Taiji Dolphin industry

An example: a single reporter broke a story about a young boy wrongly jailed as an adult illegal immigrant. They knew he was under age but tried to hide it. That one reporter became the catalyst for a change in immigration policy and law less than 2 months later. I do not ever feel it is pointless to help spread awareness of an issue that is important to me.

Umm.. it wouldn't cost you anything to petition your government and the Taiji community. Besides, if, or should i say when, a big rally is planned from the international community, i WILL be over there with them! It would make more sense if a LOCAL presence was also a part of it.

WHEN i go to Taiji, the expense to me would be immense compared to those that live in Japan. WHEN i come to Taiji i want to make sure its when there is the greatest chance of getting a message through to the Japanese government and community. In order to get to that point, more people need to be aware, and understanding of how bad the issue is. If the Japanese community are not willing to be a part of it, it will NEVER change, and all the visits by myself in the world won't change that.
 
What's this "I'll go when everybody else goes" BS? Either you're as impassioned about it as you make out to be or you're not. YOUR lack of ACTION and making it conditional on others shows precisely what a self-serving hollow BS artist you are.

You've been petitioning the Australian government about Taiji, have you?
 
Yes, and Japan, and the United states, who have the power of trade agreement boycotts that could influence Japan to shut the operation in Taiji down and to change public policy. I would think its just logical to rally as a group, rather than an individual. If you don't understand that, there is no explaining it to you.

101 bottlenose dolphins captured today.. another hundred or more remaining, have now been slaughtered.

OMG! They released the last pod of about 100. I've never seen that before. Some of them won't make it, but at least they have a chance. Unfortunately, none of the calves will be joining them, they were all taken for captivity. Nonetheless, some good news.
 
You have been deceptive....or perhaps just self-serving again....there are protesters who got up off their butts and put their money where their mouths are.

JAPAN buys many of them... The United states #seaworld and many other dolphinariums in the world do also. Am i supposed to be everywhere to stop them?
 
I would expect you to be somewhere that involves a little personal financial hardship if you're going to exhort others to lose money on your cause.

Reimburse my lost wages, my travel expenses, my lodging, and my meals and maybe I'll go down to Taiji and pointlessly shout and wave a sign in your place.
 
If you think its pointless, what confidence should i have in you? You know, i'll go one better... Yo get Ten of your mates together.. not only will i pay for your trip there and back.. i'll buy you a beer or two, and a nice Taiji lunch. But i don't think u believe that!

And i mean you and your friends.. but, are you willing to get your hands a little dirtied?
 
About as much as you get yours dirtied, sitting there tapping on your keyboard and spouting BS that I hope is at least fooling yourself, because you sure as hell ain't fooling anybody else.
 
What a joke of a thread. I hate people who are so contradictory on matters like this. This just makes me want to get down to Taiji and have myself a big Dolphin burger and wash it down with a drink of all those tears these activists cry. For crying out loud, I heard plants have feelings, maybe we should all stop eating all together.

I'd like to try eating some dolphin. I have tried whale a few times, and see how one could develop a fondness for it.

If I'm willing to eat commercial beef, which is full of antibiotics and growth hormones, I'd have no health qualms about eating wild dolphins. I prefer wild game in fact. I try to shoot a moose every year so we don't have to resort to that unhealthy beef.

Dolphins and whales ARE a traditional cultural food resource for certain peoples, like N. American Eskimos and native Japanese fishermen.

If dolphins are so special and intelligent, let them look out for themselves. Let them learn to avoid the nets.

Sorry, I'll save my sympathy for children starving in Africa and innocent people being blown to bits in the Middle East.

I agree with you about halfway there. For the record, I've eaten whale a few times.

While dolphin and whales are a traditional food, with whale at least, they have changed the hunting style enough to make it a new industry. If they were still hunting whale in primitive fishing boats, and not with exploding harpoons, I think there would be less complaint.

The dolphin issue is a bit beyond me to comment on.
 
Well , you can take solace in the fact that I will be having a nice new years dinner of Dolphin marinated chilli source.
