Survey of Overseas Organizations Involved in Japanese-Language Education

The Japan Foundation conducts a survey every few years of overseas organizations offering Japanese-language courses in order to obtain an accurate picture of the Japanese-language teaching around the world.

Korea, China, and Australia were the top three countries in terms of numbers of students learning Japanese language.

1. S Korea (the most famous anti-Japan history nation): 910,957 students
2. China (the most famous anti-Japan sentiment nation: 684,366
3. Australia (the most famous anti-Japanese whaling nation: 366,165

In the case of Australia, it's not anti-Japanese apart from the whaling thing. I think because of trade, Japanese is one of the top languages studied.
