It was close but I thought it looked like the ball broke the plain for the touchdown.
That was a great Super Bowl though. It was awesome for the Bus to go out a winner like that. As an NHL fan, it reminded me of Ray Bourque that year he won the Cup with the Avs.

The ball was in the crook of his arm and the elbow crossed the plain...which obviously the ball did too! It was a good call...but I feel as though Seattle was screwed on their first touchdown (non-call)...that was not enough to be called a pushoff!

No need for sour apples, Mr. San. Of course it was a touchdown Big Ben scored. No doubt in my mind! The ball broke the plane, so it's a score. But then, I'm from Pennsylvania so I was rooting for the Steelers all the way! Heh! Now, I will admit that the Seaturkeys were robbed on that score which was called back for a pushoff. I've seen worse cases of that in the past. Still, Seattle never took advantage of the Steelers who clearly weren't firing on all cylinders Sunday. One for the thumb, baby!!!
👍

Seattle made it didnt they. Thats more then they have done in the last 30 years id say its a start.

though it would of been nice if they won..

Seattle had a couple of blown chances right before halftime that they should have scored...not to mention their kicker missed twice! They just lost the game...no one took it away from them...especially the refs. They were walking all over the Steelers all day, but just couldn't punch it in for the score.

I live in Seattle right now, but interestingly enough I'm originally from Detroit, where the game was taking place.

So I was rooting for the Lions to win. Oh wait....

Yeah, and I was going for the Saints. Yet they couldn't even secure the first pick in the draft.

Anyway, Seattle's clock management was atrocious at the end of each half. I couldn't believe a Mike Holmgren-coached team could be so sloppy. I didn't have a favorite either way. On the one hand it would have been nice for Seattle to win because it was their first trip, but on the other hand it was nice for Bettis to go out in style.

Yeah .... OK ....

I guess I have to admit ... they didn't make as much of it as they should have done.

Damn! Damn! Damn!

😭 😭 😭

The Seahawks did get screwed on a few calls though. Mainly that holding call right after they completed that pass to the goal line and also that penalty on Hasselback for that tackel he made. I thought it was a clean hit.

Yeah, that call on Hasselbeck was definitely BS. How can you get called for an illegal block when your team doesn't even have the ball? I can't believe that call was ever made. Also, the Seattle receivers could have held on to the ball more. That was just sad.

Yeah...Seattle's tight end could hold on all day could he! With all that has been said, does anyone think that the NFL is fixed...similar to the WWE? I mean it is pretty damn hard to believe that Bettis wins the Superbowl on probably his last year, with a 6th seed, in his hometown!

I personally don't think it's fixed, (being that the Colts lost out) but you never know do you?

Seattle got robbed, but it wasn't the first time that a team got robbed and it won't be the last time it happens either. There really isn't anything anyone can do except b**ch and complain about it until the next time.

There are times when I watch football that I wish they would do away with instant reply, but if it is going to stay, as I think it is, the league needs to figure out a system where officials feel secure enough to do their jobs, even of they make a mistake.

Next thing that is going to happen, imo, is the "non" calls are going to start taking precidence because the refs are going to be too afraid to make a call that is close, one out of fear of having their jobs taken away.

My God! Blogs and message boards from coast to coast were white hot on Monday with mindless rants and ravings about how Seattle was "robbed" which absolutely WASN'T the case. I'll admit the refs screwed up big time on Sunday, but there's no way in hell that the fix was in.

The NFL had nothing to gain by favoring the Steelers, to even consider fixing the biggest game of the season would cost the league every last shred of credibility with its fans. Those same conspiracy nuts also refused to accept that Seattle screwed up just as badly as the refs, blown scoring chances, horrific clock management, legitimate penalties, mistakes left, right and center, the list goes on.

In the end, the refs didn't cost Seattle a championship, Seattle flushed themselves down the toilet. Plain and simple, folks.

The Seahawks got robbed with a lot of calls by the ref. But I still think that the Steelers would've won. Roethlesberger did make that touchdown. At first I was screaming at the screen because I didn't think he made it, but the instant replay punched me in the face.

The seahawks could've had an OK chance at the very end if they would have just kicked the Field goal. Then attempt an onside kick, which by the way usually only takes up 1 sec, 3 at the most. If they would've recovered then they would've been able to try for the endzone with about 21 sec left. If they would've made the touchdown then all they would have to worry about was the Two point conversion. But with everything I just said, it is very likely they would have choked.

But Go GIANTS! and Alex Smith (what a horrible start for the rookie)

later!

Oh yeah like Flash Jeff said, It was Seattle who flushed themselves down the toilet.
