Why does some Jedis disappear and some don't?

The lore is that when a Jedi is ready to become one with the Force, they prepare themself before they die to do so. Other Jedi that dont disappear, usually are fallen in battle, and werent mentally preparing themself to become one with the Force yet.


Its little known, but Anakin Skywalker actually disappeared, in Return of the Jedi. The suit Luke was burning had no body in it.
