Something like Deutsche Welle

Is there a Japanese equivalent to the excellent German Deutsche Welle (DW) website?

I have found the DW site to be very useful, especially their audio-visual offering, like Video Thema, the telefilm Jojo and Slowly-spoken News.

Does the government of Japan or its public service broadcaster offer anything similar?
