First off, I want to say that this is an excellent forum. The posters on here are great and the quality of the posts show it.

The site comes across to me as rather clunky and cluttered, though. There are so many forums and sub-forums that it can be difficult to find exactly what I am looking for. I find myself having to click through a lot of pages just to get to a post or two. Personally, I think the site would benefit from condensing some of the forums or sub-forums together. The forums are not so active that posts would get lost or bumped to the 2nd or 3rd page too quickly.

Also, there are so many stickies. It's my personal belief that a message board should be reserved for the dynamic information and that more static information, such as that presented in the stickies, is better reserved for other sections of the web page.

Just my two cents, though. Keep up the good work.

I highly recommend clicking on the "New Posts" link at the top and then selecting the "Since Last Visit" option. If you're in a bit of a rush and just want to check for new messages in threads you're already subscribed to, click on the "User CP" link and the short list of threads you're already interested in can save you a bit of time.

Mike is right. I always do check "Today's posts" too. You can also get the new post only in one of the 9 main categories (5 in English including the Site Administration, so that's not so much...).

Don't forget that you can subscribe to any thread by clicking on "Thread Tools" (top of the thread), or just subscribe automatically to all the threads you participate in by setting it in your options.

Please make use of the Search too, which is the easiest way to find a subject you want (select well your keywords). This forum now has almost 15,000 threads (and over 180,000 posts!); it's only natural that there should be so many subforums, otherwise it would be almost impossible to find a thread without the search (except if you want to read through hundreds of pages or unrelated thread titles).

I am probably going to add a few pages outside the forum linking to the best threads by category, though.

If there was specific information I was looking for amidst old posts, then I would definitely use the search function. The main problem I see in using the site now is looking at new information. Sometimes it's just too much clicking around... then you discover yet another sub-forum that could just be merged with the forum above it. Having so many nested forums makes it difficult to check out the new information there, I think.
