I heard of them, but never heard any music. I guess i'm more into japanese music
 
hahahha same here... ive heard their um... lunar eclipse... i have a pv of theirs somewhere... but... hahaha chinese and visual dont really go nicely together... and its just weird?? u expect to hear japanaese... but... as an chinese myself =) i say... it just sounds ... not as great =P hahhaha
 
Hah, I didn't know Silver Ash were still around.. XD Heard them years ago but lost all the songs I had Looks like they have changed quite a bit..
Now I can't remember what they sound like!
 
I like "Control" in their "Out of Control" album. I'm used to listening to Chinese music, but this is a good change
 
i had silver ash's disco for a while......they supposedly disbanded beccause of the government but now they r back together but not vk'ed out...and i think they changed their name to "toy" or something according to the silver ash form on batsu last time i checked there (which was a while ago)

SILVER ASH!! They are a very good band. I love Lunar Eclipse! A plus is that they are Chinese and my friends can't say that I don't understand what they're saying (even though I still don't but its not as bad as them making fun of me liking JRock).

I know of a forum where you can get alot of their albums. Let me go dig for it.

EDIT: go to bww2forums/cpop/albums. Sign up. Go to albums section and look for Silver Ash. They got quite a few songs there. Hopefully the links aren't expired yet. (eR is this allowed since technically i'm not uploading any songs hehehe...)
 
anyone know exactly whats happening with silver ash.....supposedly they reformed after the government made them disband..just less visual...and then they changed their name to TOY or [TOY] and i heard they changed it back to silver ash and.....yeah i heard a cd is coming out soon by silver ash or toy or whatever the heck they r now....but it havnt read anything offical or anything...anyone know anything?

It's sooo hard to get any info on them really!
I just know that Ling is the only one left from the original members.

Their visual kei style really reminds me of a mix of Diru and Miyabi LOL!

but yeah their vk reminds me of deg too.....its odd...this is the only band my mother approves of.....maybe cause its chinese and we r chinese -_- lol she calls their lyrics and singing childish T_T haha
 
^ I haven't even been able to get many translations of their songs. I don't speak mandarin so I can't understand their lyrics hehehehe (well I can understand bits and pieces of the more simple words)... but I still don't think my mom would like them. She doesn't like loud music.
 
she translated a song or 2 for me....when i was driving with it playing.....only bits and peices of it....

nothing i remember....lol is there a person that speaks mando with a lot of free time on their hands?
 
Hmm... I have Lunar Eclipse and I love it except their chinese is uber hard to understand [or is it just me]. I've spoken chinese all my life and I still had to look up the lyrics to actually understand it.


Agreed. Chinese + Visual = uber odd.
 
^ I think it sounds alright lol. At least they are speaking mandarin. I think cantonese would sound worse. But I guess i'll never know for sure until I hear it.
 
Has anyone heard Silver Ash's newest work, "Yin Se Hui Chen Wei Jin Ji"?

anyway... I've just listened a couple of few songs by them but I really really liked them ((the songs... and Ling jaja...)). Specially Lunar Eclipse!!!! I just LOOOOVEEE that song with my entire soul, it's awesome! It was the first time I listened a chinese band play that kind of music and I love how it sound! I like, at least on them, how chinese and visual went together^^....

i got the "[2005] wei jin ji" album a long time ago....its not really their "newest work" ? is it?

but there is no song called "Yin Se Hui Chen" on the track..or even in my silver ash folder...

i heard some live songs of them... damn that singer sounds very bad live (recorded)...
 
i think those people who think Chinese + visual is odd really need to open their minds. silver ash is china's first visual band and even if they don't have enough resources doesn't mean they're failures. their lyrics are very beautiful and required a lot of thought. for example, "never end." and just because their music may sound odd to some of your ignorant ears doesn't mean it won't work. it's no different than kids in the US dressing "visual" for a dir en grey concert. or some Japanese visual kei complete failing. just because their style is inspired from japan does it mean the music has to be? they're not trying to be Japanese, they're trying to do what they want. they're distinctly Chinese, including their visual style and I love them for it! trust me, i've seen other vk chinese bands (i'd add a link but this is my first post) and agreed, they need some work, but silver ash really tries, imo it's starting to work.

it takes guts to stand up and try to do this kind of thing under the conservative Chinese government. it's really highly political and I know they are probably withstanding ridicule from everyone, probably even their families. I'll always love and respect Silver Ash and Ling, the band leader and singer for what they've done for the rest of us chinese kids who prefer rock and also like vk.

i'm sorry. ^___^;;; i probably pissed off a lot of folks..... and i don't mean to. but this is really what I think and it makes me mad when people don't consider how important their place is for our chinese culture especially. Silver Ash is in a lot of trouble right now and I really want to support them as much as I can. and especially if you're chinese, well... if you love them then support then with all your heart! they need us right now.
