Some stuff you need to know about getting electronics in Japan and bring them back to your home country.
If you purchase a local model, it's very likely that your warranty is covered only in Japan. If you need a service using your warranty, you'll need to get in touch with the manufacturer's service center in Japan and most likely ship your product to Japan. I doubt the shipping is covered.
If you purchase an export model found at duty free shops, it's very likely that any warranty services are provided by local service centers, if there are any. When I visited Akihabara last year, I noticed that these export models sold at duty free stores to be outdated and pricey. You can get a newer models for less at Ritz Camera or even Best Buy.
