Seven-Eleven has started raising prices on onigiri products due to increasing rice costs. The increases have been introduced gradually since 10 February and affect some 29 items, including rice balls and boxed meals. The move reflects rising staple food prices now reaching everyday convenience store products.

The average increase is around 20 yen, with the Hand-Rolled Onigiri Tuna Mayonnaise and Hand-Rolled Onigiri Hokkaido Kombu rising by 18 yen from 178 yen to 196 yen. The Hand-Rolled Onigiri Charcoal-Grilled Red Salmon and Hand-Rolled Onigiri Spicy Cod Roe with Extra Filling will increase by 19 yen from 213 yen to 232 yen. Among bento items, the Oyakodon will rise by 51 yen from 594 yen to 645 yen.
