Seeking relatives

Hello. I'm not sure if I am in the correct forum but I am seeking Japanese relatives living in Japan as I live in the United States. If by chance I am in the correct forum, please somebody let know. Thank you in advance.

You're in the correct forum but nobody can help you without some details regarding your relatives. But to be honest it's like looking for a needle in a haystack if you don't have many details.

My mom (Japanese) passed away in the U.S. and her koseiki has been misplaced. She is from Kokura Kitakyushu. Born in 1936 and passed in 2010. I'm just seeking some Japanese relatives to learn more about my family and start my family tree as I do not even know my grandparents names. There are only a few relatives names that I do know but not sure if they are even living. My mother married an American in 1959 (my dad) which was frowned upon but eventually was accepted by her family. We left Japan in 1975 and never returned. I have a cousin named Teruo Kaji born around 1946. My brother found an old letter that he had written my mother in 2005 from Kokura Kitakyushu Fukoku. My mothers name was Shizuko Kaji 1936-2010. Her brothers names are Nobiyuki Kaji and Mitsaki Kaji both have passed. Hope some of this information would help get me started on the great hunt to find some of my relatives. I've also done my DNA but only distant cousins show up.
