I mainly joined this forum because I've wondered how to find a job as a Registered Nurse in Japan and all my internet searching isn't helping. Can anyone give me tips on how to find a job as a nurse? Thank you!

Um...how good is your Japanese? Do you have any training by an accredited institution in Japan?

My guess is that unless you have near perfect Japanese with some kind of license from a Japanese institution your chance of finding work as an R.N. is so close to zero as to be negligible.

I currently work at UCLA children's hospital which is VERY accredited. I've been here for 4 1/2 years now. I know a little Japanese but not conversational. I understand the language needed but I was wondering where to even look to apply. Are there Children's hospitals well known in Kyoto or nearby?

What I mean is that I doubt that your American credentials will qualify you for a job in Japan. It'S kind of like how each state in America has its own bar exam for lawyers (unless I'm mistaken in that). I think you'd have to pass whatever exams they have to get credentials as a R.N. in Japan before you would even be considered. The Jref member FrustratedDave would know much better than I do, however.

No problem! Good luck on your dream, and maybe try giving a PM to FrustratedDave, as he is probably the most knowledgeable member here on issues of healthcare in Japan.

Well I am a bit late to the party and the OP has not come back since January, but if you do, shoot me a PM as there are quite few ways you can work as a nurse here if you are accredited in your home country.
