Hmm, it does act inconsistently at times. I usually use "Advanced Search" and check "Search titles only". When you search from within a thread, the default option is "Search This Thread," so you'd have to select "Everywhere", "Threads", or wherever, to expand the search scope.

That's not related to the search function.
Are you using the text editor? Once you have uploaded your images, you can define where to display them, in full size or as thumbnails.
If you upload images to your post, but don't place them, they'll be displayed as attachments at the bottom of your post.

Nothing as complex as that; I write my text and add photos in the order I want them to appear. Thinking about it, I might have to upload them in reverse order….in fact do everything in reverse order. I'll try it later.

One thing I've never figured out is how to post images from mobile so they look good on PC. If you leave them as is, they are huge on PC. But if you resize them to be smaller they are too small. On mobile they look fine either way.
