I'm starting out on learning the violin, and I have an acquaintance (quite a bit older than me) who is an accomplished violinist. I want to ask "do you have any advice for someone starting out?", but I'm not sure of the right phrasing or if I'm being polite enough (I'm sending them an email.) My attempt is:
"(バイオリンの)初心者として、知っておくべきことがありますか?"
And/ or "(I don't know what word best suits the English for "advice/ tips" here) を教えていただければ幸いですが。"
Also, would I add よろしくお願いします at the end? I don't know if it sounds too presumptuous.
