Woah, alot of romanji bashing going on, lol. I dont mind it myself, its a good starting point to learn the pronounciation of the language, nothing more than that.

The most useful thing ive found for romaji is when typing japanese, outside that its not a very accurate guide of pronouciation. Then again english words can be a nightmare to say just by looking at it (i laughed so hard when the kids in my class tried to say 'neighborhood', its mean but say it as its written)
