Hello,

I would like to request help translating the kanji on the tang from a Japanese sword. I see a name but am struggling with the rest. I am trying to turn the kanji into romaji and their translation to English. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Matt

There is no personal name there. Miyazaki is the name of a city or prefecture.
Miyazaki-jingū - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

奉納
宮崎神宮 為祈願
皇軍武運長久 國威宣揚

Dedicated to Miyazaki Shrine for prayer
Good luck for the Imperial Army in battle
Propagate national prestige

Toritoribe - Thanks very much for your prompt help. I appreciate the insight. It is a very interesting translation.

So this was stolen from a shrine after the war?

They might like to have it back, don't you think?
