Really Quick -te form question

Just trying to remember how to use a negative "te" form of a verb. Mainly for arimasen/nai.

To appoligize for something "not" existing I guess.

その時間、車がなくて、すみませんでした。

Is this right? Thank you

Change その時間 to この間 and it works fine. Note that this isn't the only use of the "-nakute" form.

Example:
昨日車がなくて、歩いて帰るしかなかったんだ。 一時間もかかって大変だったよ。
Yesterday I didn't have a car, so I had to walk home. It took me an hour - it sucked.

Change その時間 to この間 and it works fine. Note that this isn't the only use of the "-nakute" form.

その時 is probably fine as well, I'm sorry I didn't have a car at the time....what were you trying to say Emoni ?

Thanks guys. This was just an example sentence, the car isn't important. I just was using something to show how I needed the verb.
