Is there a "te" forum of da/de aru/ desu?

I know you can do all sorts of things with the "te" form, i.e. join sentences together, talk about actions in progress, and probably lots more. Is there also a "te" form of da/de aru/desu and how is it used? (I do know "da" isn't really a verb.) Thanks in advance.

The "-て" form of the copula is "で," and it is used in all of the same ways that the "-て" form of verbs is used. Also, you can use "であり" for a connective form, but it is slightly different. That's another topic though....

Interesting. I was thinking about whether that one was used; it is certainly possible, conisdering that "ありまして" is used as a "-て" form. I was afraid to include it, though, because I couldn't think of a situation in which I had actually heard it. That also made me wonder about "でして" but I'm pretty sure that I've never seen that one (even though "でしたら" is used).

Your title is a bit strange. It means "the black medical examination." I believe what you want is "黒い剣士," "the black swordsman" (that's assuming that you're keeping with the "Berserk" theme).

It may just not be used in spoken Japanese.

I'm pretty sure でして doesn't exist.
a) です arrived on the scene later than であります
b) まして is the (not often used) て form of the ます ending - so in theory
it might be applied to any -ます form verb. Same thing doesn't apply to
です

No, it's right the way you have it. I was just wondering whether you may have been going for "the black swordsman" because of your other "Berserk" references. Forget what I said, you were right. Sorry.

there is no te for the plain form, te form is just another form
