Greetings everyone.

Before I start typing, I apologise in advance if I said something wrong.

Just last few weeks ago, contaminated beef was shipped to all prefectures in Japan except Okinawa . By the time the government start tracking down and recall these beefs, I believe some were already consumed.

I will be going to Kansai area soon and would like to know the food in Kansai are usually from which part of Japan? For example the vegetables?

Where can I buy a radiation dosimeter and/or radiation detector in Kansai region (Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto )?

Is it alright for me to ask shop/resturants' waiter / waitress on where the ingredients are originated from?

Your help is all greatly appreciated.

I think you're under an mistaken impression. The level of radiation is actually quite low; its nowhere near dangerous levels. Many of the worst radiation isotopes have degraded after the first month thus the danger is much much less. So your fears are basically unfounded.

If you come with a Geiger counter, you're going to look completely ridiculous and downright rude to any Japanese individuals. Asking about where something is produced might not be the same level, (I'm sure all will tell you its safe) so its kinda pointless. The government has been pretty good about testing food and ensuring its safe.
