Thanks for the advice, so ni (i'm really bad with ni) is for a specific time like 10pm. Also, say I included Watashi, would it be correct to write "Watashi wa kinou wa......"

Are you trying to emphasize yourself or the time ? "Kinou wa" is natural to stress it was yesterday that you were busy. There normally isn't such a good reason for Watashi wa unless you make one.
