Question about this sentence

「私を救ってくれるものは、あの人の傍にしかない」
I'm wondering if ない here is correct or does it need to be いない instead (because もの is animate)?

Edit: Judging by examples like 「世界でもここにしかいないめずらしいカメ。」、it would seem that it as a grammar error, but I'm not really sure. :/

It's not really clear from context. It could be animate or inanimate.
